Insert molding is a molding process in which components are placed in the mold die prior to injecting the resin. The resin encapsulates the items inserted.
Wires are inserted into the mold and a grommet will be over-molded. The resin will bond to the wire, creating a water-tight seal, and will securely hold the grommet into a fixed position.
